御前崎市御前崎の下村家１５代目として出生。御前崎市在住。2023年12月まで、静岡大学グローバル共創科学部の教授として勤務し、教育研究に取り組んでいました。同時に学長補佐として大学運営に従事してきました。専門は電子材料工学であり、環境・エネルギー問題など脱炭素に関する知見を有しています。インドのSRM科学技術大学での客員教授としての経験も有し、海外での教育経験があります。2016年から2021年の間、御前崎市教育委員を務め、学校教育に情熱を持っています。
He was born as the 15th generation of the Shimomura family in Omaezaki, Omaezaki City and currently lives in the city. Until December 2023, he worked as a professor at the Faculty of Global Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation at Shizuoka University, where he conducted education and research. Concurrently, he served in university administration as an Advisor to the President. Specializing in electronic materials engineering, he possesses expertise in decarbonization, encompassing environmental and energy issues. Additionally, he held a position as a visiting professor at SRM Institute of Science and Technology in India, gaining teaching experience abroad. From 2016 to 2021, he contributed to the Omaezaki City Board of Education, demonstrating a fervent dedication to school education.
